Getting to Narrabri

By car

Driving is the most cost-effective option for delegates travelling from NSW, ACT and southern Queensland. Narrabri is centrally located approximately 6 hours from Sydney 7 ½ hours from Canberra and 6 ½ hours from Brisbane.

By Air

Below are the current scheduled services but these can change at any time. Check with the airlines for current flight services, flight numbers and schedules at the time of booking.

  • Direct to Narrabri: Link Airways flies to Narrabri from Brisbane and Sydney on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • To Moree: Narrabri is one hour’s drive south of Moree airport. Car hire is available in Moree. Return bus transport will be arranged if passenger numbers are sufficient. Qantas flies from Sydney to Moree. These flights are usually heavily booked and discounted options sell out quickly.
    • Sydney to Moree: Sunday 22 August: QF2192, 17.15-18.50.
    • Moree to Sydney: Thursday 26 August: QF2181, 09.05-10.40.
  • To Tamworth: Narrabri is located two hour’s drive to the north-west of Tamworth. Car hire is available in Tamworth. Return bus transport will be arranged if passenger numbers are sufficient. Qantas Link flies from Sydney to Tamworth.
    • Sydney to Tamworth:
      • Sunday 22 August: QF2014, 12.05 -13.10. Recommended if requiring bus transport.
      • Sunday 22 August: QF2006, 15.25-16.30.
  • Tamworth to Sydney:
      • Thursday 26 August: QF2003, 10.25 -11.25. Recommended if requiring bus transport.
      • Thursday 26 August: QF2015, 13.35- 14.35.

By Train

NSW Country Link runs a train service from Sydney to Narrabri, and return, daily. The trains offer two classes of travel, have a buffet car and free wi-fi service on board. Trains leave Sydney Central Station about 9.00 am and arrive in Narrabri about 5 pm. The return service departs Narrabri daily at about 9 am arriving Sydney Central Station about 5 pm. Although a slow service, it is restful, and you will be rewarded with some amazing scenery in the Hawkesbury River area, the Hunter Valley, and the north-west plains.
